MRM Opens New Offices

The new premises of the Montpellier Management Research Laboratory (MRM) were inaugurated on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Triolet campus in Montpellier.

The inauguration was attended by the President of the University of Montpellier, Mr. Philippe Augé; the Vice President for Research, Mr. Jacques Mercier; the Director of the MRM Laboratory, Mr. Gilles N’Goala; and faculty members and doctoral students. It was also an opportunity for everyone to gather together for a cocktail reception.

The new offices provide a modern, spacious workspace of over 200 square meters for the laboratory’s members. In particular, they include two large rooms for doctoral students, allowing them to make progress on their research, as well as a meeting room that seats 25–30 people, enabling researchers to gather to discuss their progress and collaborate with international colleagues (either in person or via videoconference).

At the inauguration, Mr. Augé and Mr. N’Goala emphasized the importance of the humanities and social sciences in general, and management sciences in particular (Finance, Strategy, Marketing, Accounting, Human Resources, etc.), in navigating the transitions the world is facing. Thanks to the support of UM, MRM now has a conducive work environment to foster collaboration and research. This will enable MRM’s 220 members to work under optimal conditions.

This was followed by a General Assembly, held to discuss the 2022 research results and the current year. Bringing together faculty members, graduate students, and administrative staff, the General Assembly highlighted the progress made, the challenges that remain, and the many upcoming events, including the now-traditional laboratory day, which will take place this year at the IAE in Perpignan on June 30.
