Each research group has a leader who coordinates and guides its members. By their very nature, these groups cut across administrative teams and teaching departments. Thus, meetings are held alternately on all sites, with a common calendar. The purpose of the groups is to produce knowledge in the fundamental fields of management science. The existence of these eight groups, all of which are of significant size, gives MRM the status of a generalist laboratory in the field of management sciences.

They cover the major specialties of management science:
