We are very much looking forward to welcoming you for the first time in Montpellier to the 9th French-Austrian-German Workshop on Consumer Behavior
Montpellier is a beautiful medieval city located in the south of France on the Mediterranean Sea.
Montpellier is easy to reach, with direct flights from Paris CDG Airport or a high-speed train (TGV) that takes just 3 hours and 20 minutes, traveling directly from downtown Paris to downtown Montpellier. From Montpellier, you can also easily visit the French Riviera (a 3-hour drive) or Barcelona, Spain, which is about a 4-hour trip by train or car.
Montpellier is an ancient city home to one of Europe’s oldest universities. The historic district, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is perfect for strolling and shopping, and there are also charming modern neighborhoods featuring shops, art museums, and restaurants. The city also offers excellent public transportation, with four tram lines.
The conference will take place at Montpellier Management (MOMA), located on the Montpellier-Richter Campus, which is a 15-minute tram ride from downtown. This modern venue is also easily accessible from local hotels. Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled at the campus, with an additional 200 studying abroad.
Montpellier University, a public university, ranks among the best universities in France and regularly appears in international rankings such as the Shanghai Ranking. The University of Montpellier was founded in 1289; its Medical School, located in the historic district of Montpellier, is renowned for its rich history and has served as the setting for several French films. We will welcome attendees to a reception there on Wednesday, June 25.

From Montpellier Saint-Roch Train Station Montpellier Saint-Roch Train Station
If you are coming from the Saint-Roch Train Station in Montpellier, please follow these steps:
- After leaving the train station, go straight and take tram line 1 (the blue tram with white birds on it) toward Odysseum.
- Although public transportation is free for residents in Montpellier, you will need to purchase a ticket from the ticket machines at the tram station and scan it inside the tram after boarding. It is recommended that you use a debit or credit card to purchase the ticket, as you will not receive any change if you pay with coins.
- Get off the tram at the Port Marianne station
- Once you get off, cross the street and walk straight along Rue Vendémiaire. After about 3 to 5 minutes, you will reach Montpellier Management Campus-Richter, Building B, on the right-hand side, located within the university campus.
- You can also get off at the Rives du Lez tram stop, then walk toward the river along Boulevard des Consuls de Mer, cross the bridge, and continue straight to Building B, as shown on the map below.
From Montpellier Sud de France Train Station Montpellier Sud de France Train Station
If you are coming from the Montpellier Sud de France Train Station, please follow these steps:
- Take the Navette Gare bus shuttle from the “Gare Montpellier Sud de France” train station to the Place de France tram station.
- From Place de France, take tram line 1 toward Mosson.
- Get off the tram at the Port Marianne stop, and follow the walking directions provided above to reach Montpellier Management Campus-Richter, Building B.
From Montpellier Airport
If you are coming from Montpellier Airport, please follow these steps:
- By taxi or Uber/Bolt
You can take a taxi or Uber from the airport to Montpellier Management Campus – Richter, which will cost between €23 and €35 and take approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
- Bus Route 620 (Airport Shuttle)
You can also take the bus from "Montpellier Airport" to the "Place de l’Europe" tram station.
(Buses run every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with additional departures at 9:45 p.m., 11:00 p.m., and 12:30 a.m. A bus-only ticket costs €2, and a combined bus and tram ticket costs €3. Tickets can be purchased from the driver when boarding the bus)
From the "Place de l’Europe" tram stop, take tram line 1 toward Odysseum.
Get off the tram at the Rives du Lez or Port Marianne station and follow the walking directions provided above to reach Montpellier Management Campus-Richter, Building B.
