General overview

This master's degree provides students with high-level training in management, focusing on specialization in research and studies. The 100 hours of teaching must be supplemented by courses taken as part of a master's degree in Management Sciences at a university in Montpellier or by validation of professional experience demonstrating equivalent skills in management.

Career prospects

The Master's Degree in Research and Studies in Management allows students wishing to pursue a PhD fundamental knowledge of research in management sciences.

The main professions are as follows: researcher or lecturer-researcher in management sciences (after obtaining a PhD), consultant and head of studies and research in the field of management, teacher.

Objectives and career opportunities of the program

The master's program aims to prepare students for professional integration in the field of studies and research, either through integration into consulting firms dedicated to business and organizational management sciences upon completion of the master's program, or through integration into a university research team with a view to preparing a PhD.

After completing their PhD thesis, students may apply for positions as lecturers and researchers at French (section 06) or foreign universities, business schools, and public research institutions such as the CNRS.

The REM program also equips students with skills in research project design and management, enabling them to join research and management consulting firms in positions such as consultant, research officer, or account manager.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Students who have completed a Master's 1 degree and are enrolled in a Master's 2 "professional" degree in management sciences at a university in Montpellier.
  • Students enrolled in PhD do not hold a Master's degree in Research.
  • Professionals with proven experience in the field (VAE, VAP).
  • Candidates are selected based on their application and an interview conducted by a panel of academics.

Lessons

The Master 2 Research and Studies in Management includes 100 hours of compulsory teaching on the following topics:

  • Epistemology and research design in management: Epistemologyof management sciences, Methodology and research project management,
  • Management research methods: Qualitative approaches, quantitative approaches.

It also involves writing a research thesis supervised by a research professor from the MRM laboratory.
